Breathing in Bed After A Workout (For Recovery)

  1. Get comfortable in bed. (Bet you never thought I would say that!)

  2. Lie on your back, one hand on belly and one on the chest. Inhale through your mouth; fill your belly. Inhale until your chest is full. Exhale forcefully, like you’re blowing out candles. Your abs should feel wrung out. Do this for 2-3 minutes. If you feel disoriented, that is okay. It happens.

  3. RELAX NOW, Move your arms to your sides, palms up and take diaphragmatic breathes through your nose. You may nod off. That is ok! You have taken your body out of its fight or flight state, kick starting recovery.
